About NSF Futurebound at the University of Arizona
The University of Arizona received a National
Science Foundation grant (NSF # 0120878) to implement the Futurebound
Program from 2001-2005. Through this program, students transferring from Pima
Community College to the University of
Arizona were funded to conduct research in laboratories at the University
of Arizona under the supervision of faculty sponsors. In
addition, students developed posters of their research, presented the posters
at a research symposium, and presented research at professional conferences.
A facilitator’s manual is currently being developed describing how the
program was developed and implemented.

Who should attend this conference
One objective of the fall conference is to bring together representatives from community colleges and universities interested in learning about results from the Futurebound program and replicating the Futurebound model at their own institutions. Therefore, any university and college representatives across the United States should attend; as the conference will be an opportunity to talk to former Futurebound alumnae.to Top
